Original Deed - November 9, 1898
Daniel Quinlan to St. Mary's Church, Jamesvile

TRANSCRIPT: This indenture made the ninth day in November in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight between Daniel Quinlan (widower) of Jamesville Onondaga Co. New York of the first part and St. Mary’s Church Jamesville N.Y. a body corporate located at the same place party of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of One dollar ($1.00) lawful money of the United States paid by the said party of the second part does hereby grant and release unto the said party of the second part its successors and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situated in the village of Jamesville County of Onondaga and State of New York and being part of lot number ninety-two (92) of the Town of DeWitt in said county and bounded and described as follows “vis.” Beginning in the north side of the old Seneca Turnpike at a cast iron stake about one foot long driven in the ground and on the east line of village lot now owned by L.P. and J.D. DaLong thence north one and one half degrees east along said DeLong’s east line one hundred and ten feet (110) thence east parallel with said Seneca Turnpike sixty (60) feet thence southerly parallel with the west line above described to the north side of said Turnpike thence west alone the north side of the Turnpike to the place of beginning containing six thousand six hundred (6600) square feet more or less. Party of second part to erect and maintain a suitable fence on the north and east line of the property above described. Together with the appurtenances and all the estate and rights of the said party of the first part in and to said premises. To have and to hold the above granted premises unto the said party of the second part its successors and assigns forever and the said party of the first part does covenant with the said party of the second part as follows: That the party of the second part shall quietly enjoy the said premises. That the said premises are free from encumbrances. That the said party of the first part will forever warrant the title to said premises. In witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written Daniel Quinlan in presence of State of New York County of Onondaga Town of DeWitt. On the ninth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight before me, the subscriber personally appeared Daniel Quinlan to me personally know to be the same person described in and who executed the foregoing instrument and he duly acknowledged to me that he executed the same Calvin McCarthy Justice of the peace.
